Indo-American
Fair is being held since 2003. Since then, the fair
is growing at a rapid pace as is evident from the fact that in
2003 between 5 to 7 thousand
people flocked to the fair. In 2004
approximately 10,000 people came and enjoyed
the fair. In 2005 more than
25,000 people attended and the fair had
phenomenal and unparalleled success. In 2006
more than 50,000 people visited and enjoyed the fair. In 2007 nearly 75,000 people flocked to the Fair.
In 2008 we are expecting nearly same number of people to visit and enjoy the Fair.
The people have really demonstrated a keen and deep interest in the various facets of art and culture of India, which were presented at the previous fairs. A number of Assemblymen, Mayors of West Windsor & South Brunswick Township, local dignitaries, community leaders and members of Governor’s Cabinet also participated and diversified cultural participation. Not only the participation of the diverse community at a larger scale but also the corporate world has shown their support, participation to make the project successful.
Open Road Honda, Devji Wealth Planning (An office of MetLife), Princeton Health Care System, Colonial Auto Complex, L’Oreal USA, Western Union and couple others were among the chief sponsors of the event held in 2007.
Since the outset of the Fair in 2003, the Fair had its impact felt in the neighboring and other States.
Due to the extensive marketing and awareness campaign, vendors from many States including Georgia, Washington DC, Virginia, Maryland, New York, Long Island, Pennsylvania, California, Connecticut, New Jersey and Canada started participating and displaying their various articles of arts, handicrafts, costume jewelry, ethnic dresses, paintings (both contemporary and traditional) and so on.
Keeping in view the phenomenal success of the project, we are planning to include more and more items of art, handicrafts, diverse cultural programs of NJ Artists, heritage back from India including live family entertainment throughout the event, ethnic dances, ‘Bhangra’ (a regional group form of dance of India), ‘Ras Garba’ (another regional group form of dance of India) and much more will bring the whole community together and take the Fair to its new heights never seen in the annuls of History.
This year the Indo-American Fair will showcase various items of Indian art, handicrafts, costume jewelry, traditional Indian dresses, paintings, artistic brass work, multi-linguistic cultural programs including regional dances, live entertainments and much more. Thus the Fair integrate and fortify different communities and presents a true diversity, varied arts, various cultures and programs under one platform. Vendors from New Jersey and neighboring States will participate, as in past, to display their best-enriched artwork to attract and evoke interest in people.
The Raffle of the Car and SUPER 50/50 RAFFLE along with other gift items is sure to attract more and more people to the Fair. Therefore, the Two Day Fair would offer many windows to our vendors, sponsors to interact with thousands of potential customers at a personal level, while also performing important market research and gathering valuable demographic and economic data.
From the foregoing, it may kindly be seen that the Indo-American Fair has emerged as one of best South Asian festivals in New Jersey and in a short span of 5 years it garnered a sizeable audience under one platform. The Fair has shown immense leadership and has earned éclat and encomiums from various sections of society including public officials.
